Cynequa Kozak
SMART Coordinator

Cynequa was born and partially raised in Michigan. When she was 14 she moved to Seattle where she graduated from Rainier Beach High School. Shortly after she moved to San Francisco where she attended Bryman College where she became a licensed Pharmacy Technician. She worked her way through City College of San Francisco obtaining an associate of arts degree then transferred to San Jose State University. At SJSU she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Adapted Physical Education.

Through Cynequa's studies at SJSU she gained valuable field experience by working along side a credentialed adapted physical educator for approximately 200 hours. Cynequa also instructed several lessons in those classes where she gained the confidence to teach in a group atmosphere. In Cynequa's last year at SJSU she began working for the city of San Jose as a part-time group fitness instructor. She taught Pilates, Beginning Yoga, Cardio Kickboxing and PiYo to the adult clientele. She also instructed youth classes such as Junior Olympians, active after school and games for girls.

In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband Esteban and their Miniature Schnauzer Abby.

"The Riekes Center is a unique place where people from all walks of life and all age groups come and share common goals in a motivational atmosphere".
