Wilder Thursday Preteen Instructor Andy grew up surfing the beaches from Southern California to Bonny Doon. His favorite thing to catch is, "...an overhead northwest swell, glassy, out of Scott's creek." It is not surprising that this love for water manifested in a degree in hydrology from UC Santa Barbara. Andy is a former youth and adult instructor for Wilderness Youth Project in Santa Barbera. More recently, Andy has been a substitute instructor and weekend workshop program leader for the Riekes Center Nature Awareness Department. He is a graduate of the RDNA program with a certificate in Permaculture Design. He is a guest instructor for the Bay Area's Peninsula Permaculture programs. When not instructing nature programs, he can be found running his own permaculture business, Waking Water Designs.
