Every week through creative hands on activities students will learn and explore different parts of the film-making process. Some of the main topics covered in workshops are media awareness and literacy, acting and directing, equipment operations and maintenance, pre-production planning, producing, script writing, story structure, post-production editing, and distribution. Every three months Reels Eyes Participating Students (REPS) will have the option to enter the Quarterly Riekes film challenge and put their hard work on the screen for all to see and admire.

It's Alive - Animation Lab
Wednesdays 4:30PM - 6:30PM, starts on Jan 14th (open to enrollment after start date)
Ages 11-19 - $125 month
This ongoing after school program is all about learning simple and fun 2-d and 3-d animation techniques including Claymation, Stop Motion, Time-lapse and Collage. Animation is a form of film-making that everyone and anyone can get into. This series of workshops will teach you the basics of frame-by-frame shooting with still and moving image cameras. Working in teams and individually we will create a series of short animations while working on story structure and technique. Join in the fun of bringing drawings and inanimate objects to life.

Final Cut Pro 101 - Basic Editing
Thuesdays 5:30pm - 7pm, Feb 5th - March 12th

Final Cut Pro 6 is fairly intuitive editing software that can be used to cut anything from consumer DV to uncompressed High Definition. Through a set of simple editing exercises you will become comfortable with standard editing techinques using Final Cut Pro.
